Important: The Pain Coach is an educational and self-management coaching tool. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or advice, and is not a substitute for care from your doctor or healthcare team. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional about your health, and never disregard or delay seeking it because of something in this app. If you have a medical emergency, call 999 or NHS 111.

1. Who we are

The Pain Coach ("the app", "the service") is operated by The Pain Coach Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales, registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms.

2. What the app is

The Pain Coach provides educational content and coaching to support self-management of chronic and persistent pain (including fibromyalgia), and optional practical support around work. It is a coaching and education product, not a medical device or clinical service. It does not diagnose, treat, monitor, or manage any medical condition, and it does not give medical, legal, or financial advice.

3. Who can use it

You must be aged 18 or over to use the app. During the testing period, access requires a valid invite code.

4. The AI coach

The app includes an AI-assisted coach that responds to your messages and reflections with general educational and supportive information. Its responses are generated automatically and are general in nature. They are not personalised medical advice and should not be relied on as such. Always consult your healthcare team about decisions relating to your health, treatment, or medication.

5. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Please give accurate information when you register, and let us know if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

6. Acceptable use

Please use the app only for its intended purpose. You agree not to misuse the service, attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to it, or use it in any unlawful way.

7. Your content

Reflections and messages you enter remain yours. You grant us permission to process them to operate the service (including sending them to our AI provider to generate responses), as described in our Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the app available and working well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and features may change, particularly during the testing period.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app, including any decision made on the basis of its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. This does not affect your statutory rights.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
